Learning for Adults
Many adults feel that “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks”. This is not the case when it comes to music. Most adults are not looking for a new career in the music business as much as just being able to play their favorite song.
There are many method books that can be used to teach different styles that are geared towards adults. Books such as “learn the blues” or “jazz” (which are style books) add more of a structured learning similar to what younger students (ages 8 to 18) would use, except the pace in the books are more geared for adults.
As with any student the lessons would be tailor made. Most adults have goals to be able to play a specific style or just be able to play the songs that they like.

Not a Beginner

Do you need to fine tune your skills?

* Maybe you have already been playing an instrument or “played when you were a teenager”, and want to start learning more than just your set of songs.

* You are already playing but don’t know how to read music (Standard Notation).

* Haven’t picked up the instrument in 10 years and can’t really remember much about playing.

We can help you play better whatever your case maybe. As stated above, all of the lessons will be tailored to your needs and goals.

The option for the Band Program is open all year long. The program currently runs for 24 weeks once started. This is an additional program we offer students when they are ready. We place students together and co-ordinate a suitable day and time to start the program.
* Students have the opportunity to play in a group setting
* Each member will learn their part in a band
* Choose set list and work together towards a common goal
* Scheduled performance

RCM Examinations

The curriculum of The Royal Conservatory is made available and accessible to students across North America through the RCM Examinations Certificate Program. Examinations are conducted three times each year in more than 300 communities through a network of local centres. Each centre has a local Examination Centre Representative whose role is to provide information, assist teachers and students, and ensure a successful examination experience.

The Certificate Program

The Certificate Program encompasses all levels from beginner to certification as an Associate of The Royal Conservatory (ARCT). The curriculum spans eleven grades and the culminating ARCT diploma level.

Each year, more than 100,000 students across North America participate in the internationally recognized Certificate Program of RCM Examinations.
